Gretchen Lu Brenner

Gretchen Brenner, age 72, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully October 31, 2018.

Gretchen was born February 21, 1946 in North Kansas City to Parents Curtis and Helen Brenner. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals. Gretchen graduated from Park Hill High School. After graduation, she worked at the VA Clinic in Kansas City as a Dental Assistant and attended Central Missouri State University. Gretchen was a member of The KC Corvette Club and was an avid bird watcher. She especially loved hummingbirds.

She leaves behind her sister, Rebecca Ricker; her brother, Philip Brenner; her daughter, Helen Kristen Dawn Berry; grandson, Tyler Aaron Thomas Doak; and many beloved family members and dear friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Karen Loudermilk.

A memorial service will be conducted in Gretchen’s honor on Wednesday, November 14th, beginning with a visitation at 3:30 PM, followed by the service at 4:00 PM, both at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Bud Elliott officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Fuller Center for Housing, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City, or St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Riverside, Missouri, 64150.

I was sad to see Gretchen passed away. I attended Park Hill with Gretchen and remember her confidence and humor. I have not seen her in years,however, wanted to say Gretchen was a great gal. My best to the family.
