John A. Mitchell (Hatzimitsos), 66, of Kansas City, MO, passed away June 11, 2013 at his home. John was born March 9, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Paseo High School and attended Penn Valley Community College. John enlisted and proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He started a printing business, Watergate Press and Associates. He also owned Johnny's on Main St. John was also a bartender at The Streetcar Named Desire on Main St., and at its current location in Crown Center. He became lifelong friends with many of his customers. John was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Ahepa Organization and he was also a Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Katina Mitchell. John is survived by his family, Michael D. Agnos, Dino J. Agnos, Vetta Bailey, John D. Agnos and his beloved goddaughter Mina D. Agnos.
Visitation will be 2-3PM, with services to follow at 3PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial with military honors to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. The family requests no flowers but contributions may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12001 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.
