John Plisowski, 88, of Raytown, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 13, 1931 to Mike and Mary Plisowski in Kansas City, MO.
John graduated from East High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Navy on May 3, 1951 and was honorably discharged April 26, 1955, having served in the Korean War. He retired from Sears as a supervisor where he worked for 40 years.
John was saved and baptized at a young age at Fifteenth Street Baptist Church where he also sang in the choir. He was a member of First Bible Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO, and a former member of Centropolis Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma Plisowski, of Raytown, MO; daughter Joni (Plisowski) Tiller and husband Lee of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Tiller of Blue Springs, MO; brothers Michael Plisowski, Jr. of Sun City, AZ, and Frank and wife Jeanne of Independence, MO; two sisters-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Plisowski; three sisters, Helen (Plisowski) Swarts, Annie Plisowski, and Steffie (Plisowski) Billings; and one brother, Stanley Plisowski.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 31st, at First Bible Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00am – 11:00am, with the service following at 11:00am. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Floral Hills Cemetery in Raytown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Missions Fund at First Bible Baptist Church.
