Alan, as he was affectionately called by all, was truly an outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling with his best friend and life partner, Margaret, all over the country in their RV. He was an avid reader and delighted in watching his extensive collection of western movies.
Alan was a proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1000 Independence, MO.
Above all else, Alan’s strongest passion was his family. He loved and supported them always.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Margaret B. Brouse.
He leaves to cherish his memories; son, Michael A. Brouse (Toni); daughter, Linda E. Bookasta; son, Charles E. Brouse; daughter, Diane D. Henthorne (Bruce); 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
A visitation for Alan will be held on Friday, September 17, from 1:00-2:00 pm, service begins at 2:00 pm at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Graveside service to immediately follow.
The family would like to thank Three Oaks Hospice for their loving care and comfort of Alan.
