Mary Ann Kezele

February 11, 1942October 25, 2020

On October 25, 2020, Mary Ann O'Dwyer Kezele, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Mary Ann was born in Kansas City, MO, on February 11, 1942 to Anna Cahalan O'Dwyer and Fredrick O'Dwyer.

Mary Ann was a homemaker when her 4 kids were little. During the early 80s, she earned her "gold coat" at Century 21 in south KC. Her sincerity, compassion, and patience made her an excellent real estate agent. Mary Ann retired from the mortgage industry.

She was devoted to two things - her Catholic faith and her family. She married Philip Kezele June 18, 1966, and they raised four kids in Grandview, MO. The house was always filled with love, laughter, and prayer. When school was not in session, she took her children to daily mass twice a day. The house was filled with pictures of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Each night, she and her children prayed the rosary.

Mary Ann spent hundreds of hours at sports practices and games and Dolly Arden's dance studio. Mary Ann and Phil often said they were proud of their children's accomplishments.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her children, daughter Karen Kezele of the home, daughter Dr. Rebecca Wilson of the home, son Kevin Kezele (Cindy) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and son David Kezele of Richmond, MO. She is also survived by her sister Yvonne Ferron of Shawnee, KS, brother Fred O'Dwyer of Kansas City, MO, and brother Ed O'Dwyer of Albuquerque, NM.

Mary Ann's grandchildren meant everything to her - Jacob Wilson, Andrew Wilson, and Alainna Kezele. She was so proud of them and loved them so much.

Services will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, November 4. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m., and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet.

Donations can be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church or to Wayside Waifs.

I have have several fond memories of Aunt Mary. I hold near and dear to my heart for all the conversations we had growing up. She always made me feel special when we spoke. She always took time out of her busy life just to listen and hear me. Her laugh was infectious and always brought a smile to my heart.

Praying for all of the Kezele's. Rest in peace Aunt Mary.

Gerald (Jerry) O'Dwyer and family.
