after his courageous battle with cancer and heart disease.
He was born to the late Flossie (Crane) and Samuel Wray Burris in Kansas City. Wray was a proud, family business owner in Waldo for 56 years, of Bledsoe’s Rental on Wornall Road. Wray had an ongoing love with the art of thoroughbred horse racing and owned a number of race horses throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley; son Brad (Kim) Burris; daughter Susan Burris; son Michael (Shelby) Burris; granddaughters Lael, Drew, and Sage Burris. He was a loving husband and father, who deeply loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. He also adored his two year old Shih Tzu, Coco.
The wake will be held on Tuesday, July 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7500 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 1:00 p.m. also at Calvary Lutheran Church.
