Lara was passionate about all that she did; working at Curves, being a Zumba instructor, teaching in Trinity ISD and working at Huntsville State Park. She enjoyed cooking and reading. She loved the outdoors: hiking, fishing and hunting. Lara worked for several summers at the JCC Ranch Camp in Colorado. She loved the camping experience and working with young people. Lara was a proud member of the Catalena Cowgirls. She loved the whole cowgirl experience. Lara loved animals, especially horses and dogs. Her favorites were her “puppy loves”, Hank, Willoughby and Fritz. They were her “boys”.

To Lara’s family, to Lara,

Lara was one of the first persons we met upon moving into our neighborhood. We will never forget her contagious smile. Her friendship was true and sincere, the way she was from the very beginning.

She loved watching the beautiful sunsets over Lake Conroe with her friends almost every evening. She loved her furry “peoples” as she called them... always greeting us with a smile and a hug.

It was always a pleasure meeting her father Victor as he would visit often with lots to talk about life experienced. It was very obvious to everyone the love they shared for each other. Lara’s heart overflowed when her father passed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family with the deepest of sympathy and condolences. Have peace and understanding in your professed faith in Christ as you celebrate her life and memories. God bless all of you....

I’m so sorry for your loss!!  I rode with Lara for many years with Catalena Cowgirls.  I remember the day she tried out.  Her smile was contagious and she was motivated to ride with the team.  Over the years of getting to know Lara, helping her with riding and just sometimes being a listening ear, I learned she had a big heart.  She always greeted me with arms open, huge hug and big smile.  I will miss her!!  I know your hearts are broken.  I pray that you feel God’s comfort and HIS arms holding you and your family always.  I have no doubt Lara is riding with the angels!! Ride free cowgirl!! You are loved! You will be missed by many!

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made HIS light shine in our hearts to give us the light of knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Lara was a special friend, which we met through her association and her love for the "World Famous" Catalena Cowgirls. She always sat so serious in the saddle, which reflected her pride to be a part of that special group. Those that are familiar with the Organization, know that it takes special sisterhood, determination and serious discipline; that was Lara. I photographed Lara whenever the opportunity arose (with and without the Organization) as she was a truly special person; loved by us and many.

I worked with Lara for a time at Huntsville State Park. She always let her light shine for our guests, which wasn't always an easy thing to do, but she was able to do so faithfully. Lara was a kind, loving woman, and that will be my memory of her.
To Lara's family, I pray that God gives you comfort and that you will seek Him now in your time of sorrow and always. John 16:33 Jesus said "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
