Oris “Steve” Duncan Chamberlain, Jr., 88, of Katy, Texas, passed away peacefully, on the morning of Wednesday, May 3, 2018 at a private assisted living facility. Born November 29, 1929 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Oris and Dorthea Chamberlain. He lived in Cheyenne and Laramie Wyoming through his twenties and graduated from the University of Wyoming where he was a shining star on varsity basketball team. Steve married his first wife, Joyce Marian Moore of Cheyenne, Wyoming who passed away in Houston, Texas April of 1988. Steve joined the army after college and proudly served his country in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He later became a successful petroleum Landman, working with Chevron Oil Company, Tiger Oil and Terry Petroleum Company.
Steve is survived by his second wife, Carol Baker of Katy, Texas. He is also survived by his two daughters and sons-n-law, Deborah and Bill Roth of Littleton, Colorado, Gail and Mark Sloan of Flint, Texas. Steve is also blessed to be survived by loving grandchildren and spouses, Shannon Sloan, Jessica Sloan, Pat and Kristen Roth and Christina and Eric Marshall.
