My deepest condolences to Barbara and all of Mary's family.

Warm, generous, perceptive, loyal, and funny, Mary was my best friend for the past 18 years. I was so lucky to have her.

She was old-fashioned grace and New York toughness. After meeting at a bereavement group in Newton, Ma, we developed a close bond that only grew stronger with age. We could talk about anything, we understood each other. We cried and we laughed. We listened and we cared. We forgave and forgot. We had each other, and it meant so much.

She was my family.

RIP, Mary. You meant more to me than words could ever say.

I miss you,
