Maxine’s parents, Edwin and Maxine (Johnson) Dunlap, proudly welcomed their daughter into the world on October 16, 1935 in Stamford, Connecticut. Maxine grew up in Stamford and attended Stamford High School.
While residing in Keene, Maxine worked at Timoleon’s Restaurant in Keene for over 20 years.
She was an accomplished diver and swimmer, and as a teenager, she provided diving and swimming instructions to others. She was an avid golfer and a member of Bretwood Golf Course in Keene. Maxine also enjoyed her many adventures to Foxwood, as well as adventuring to restaurants allowing others to serve her as graciously as she did to so many over the years.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Valerie E. Mastrianni of Stamford, Diane L. Holden and her husband, Stephen, of Bristol, NH, Robert Butler of Enfield, CT, Wendy A. Freitas and her husband, Gregory, of Gardner, MA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Beverly Dwan, Valerie Jay, Sheila Nicholson and Sandra Remick, all of Newport Richie, FL; her partner of eight years, David Nielsen of Keene; and many nieces and nephews. Maxine was predeceased by a sister Edwina Lopiano.
A memorial and celebration of Maxine’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
