Nidia Rouleau 66, of North Swanzey, NH, went on to be with her God on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home in North Swanzey with her family at her side following a courageous battle with cancer.

Her parents, Juan and Sara (Algea) Gonzalez welcomed their daughter into the world on September 11, 1954 in the Bronx, New York. In her early years, Nidia resided in Puerto Rico and in the Bronx, and was a 1973 graduate of Dodge High School in the Bronx.

A dedicated and valued employee, Nidia worked for forty-five years as an underwriter with the Peerless Insurance Company/Liberty Mutual of Keene, retiring on December 31, 2020.

When not hard at work, she loved tending to her flower gardens at her home, and her beloved pets. She also enjoyed capturing special memories by way of snapping photographs of things she loved. She also loved to bake special goodies for her family which brought her great joy and many "smiles" that warmed her heart! She extended her love for children with her special times as a volunteer with Cedarcrest of Keene.

A woman of great faith, Nidia was a longtime parishioner and active member of St. Bernard Church in Keene.

She is survived by her beloved family, her husband of 42 years, Donald Rouleau of North Swanzey; her son, Adrian Rouleau and his wife, Meghan, of Keene, NH; her daughter, Melissa Siejkowski and her husband, Joseph, of Concord, NH; her grandchildren and the "twinkles of her eye", Dominick Siejkowski and Gabriel Rouleau; her siblings, Jose Gonzalez and Miriam Gonzalez, both of NY, Maria Gonzalez of Long Island, NY, Eddie Gonzalez and Juana Gonzalez both of NY, Heraldo Gonzalez of NJ; her nieces and nephews, Jillian, Justin, JJ, Jennifer, Brandon, Najee; and her many extended family members. I am saddened to hear of Nidia's death. I worked at Peerless/Liberty Mutual during some of the same time Nidia did. We didn’t work in the same department, but we passed each other frequently in the halls, and she always had a warm smile, a friendly hello, and as someone else had mentioned, a “very special twinkle in her eye.” During the few times we did have a chance to actually have conversations, it was like we’d been best friends forever; she was so easy to talk with. I remember Nidia as a truly delightful woman, with a gentle, caring spirit. My sincerest sympathy to her family for their loss; however, we are not without hope, as Jesus himself promised that there will be a resurrection when he said “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life.” ~John 5:28, 29 (KJV)

I didn't know her well in my years at Peerless Insurance but I saw and passed her often in the hallways and I remember so clearly her contagious smile and her super friendly greeting and that very special twinkle in her eye.

That radiance brightened so many of my days at 62 Maple Avenue.

Nidia was such a beautiful and loving person. I worked with her in NERO for many years. She loved her family so much and I recall how proud she was of her children and their accomplishments. My heart breaks at her passing but I will always remember her beautiful smile and warm heart.

I had the pleasure of working for Nidia at Peerless (and my Mom, Ann Tebo, worked with her for several years). More recently, I often saw her at Mass. She always had a smile and a kind hello. My condolences to the family during this time; thank you for sharing all the beautiful photos. I pray that you all will receive comfort from our Blessed Mother.

Nidia is a kind soul, always caring for others, and never looking to be in the limelight. She walked humbly before God and dedicated her life to Him and her family. She had one of the best work ethics of anyone I've ever had the pleasured of working with and she did it very quietly for 45 years. May His Peace and Grace be with her and her family.

Mrs. Rouleau was one of the kindest souls I have ever encountered. My sister and I practically grew up next door to the Rouleau family and attended school with Adrian and Melissa. Mrs. Rouleau would sometimes drive us to class in the morning and she always had the music going, tapping her hands on the steering wheel, humming to the beat. She greeted us with a big smile and kind heart, her laugh was infectious. I will never, ever forget your Mom and my heart goes out to Adrian, Melissa, Mr. Rouleau, your families and those beautiful grandbabies. She is so loved. <3
