His parents, Anthony and Rose (Ambrosino) Davoli welcomed their son into the world on August 29, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY. Tom grew in Maspeth, Queens, NY and was a 1968 graduate of Queens Technical High School in Long Island City, NY where he focused in mechanics.
On September 4, 1968, Tom enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic onboard an aircraft carrier. It was while serving in the Navy that Tom completed firefighting school. On September 1, 1972, he was transferred to the Naval Reserves where he continued to serve until his honorable discharge on September 3, 1974.
Tom was a 31-year member of the Spofford Fire Department achieving the rank of Captain and later serving as Deputy Fire Chief. He was also the President of the Spofford Fireman’s Association.
Tom worked as a machinist with Smith Medical in Keene for ten years, where he met his future wife, Tammy.
When not hard at work, Tom enjoyed working on model trains. He had a special love for visiting York, Maine, and he also enjoyed visiting his sisters-in-law at their camp on Swanzey Lake.
He will be greatly missed by many including his wife of twelve years Tammy (Coolidge) Davoli of Keene whom he married at their favorite spot in York; his daughter, Rachel West of Swampscott, MA with whom his whole world center around, sharing a special bond even from a far; his grandchildren, Henry West, Oliver West, Lilly West, Madeline West; Tammy’s family, her son, Ryan Driscoll, his wife, Nicole, and their children, twins, Caiden and Carter Driscoll, and her son, Nicholas Driscoll, all of Keene; his sisters, Rosemary Cannon and her husband, Edward, and Claire Piemonte and her husband, William, all of New York; his sisters-in-law, Irene Caillouette and her husband, Jim, of Hudson, NH, Peggy Kelly and her companion, Dick Nantel, of Merrimack, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00AM in the Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene. Burial will military honors and fire department honors will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Fletcher Funeral Home.
