Raymond Douglas Randerson, “Randy,” age 72, of Haslet Texas passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019. He was born on December 16, 1946 in Dallas, Texas the son of Billy Ray and Alva Lee Randerson who preceded him in death. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1965 where he met his wife Lenora Mendias. They were married June 24th, 1967 (this year they would have been married 52 years).
Randy worked as an iron worker for 25 years and was a member of Ironworkers Local Union 481. He served as the business agent and president of the Union until he retired in 1997. After retiring as an ironworker he also worked for TexStar Aviation until he retired in 2013.
He loved and served his country by serving in the Navy. He was a strong man who worked hard for his family. He loved the outdoors, was an eagle scout and also volunteered with the scouts for many years. He enjoyed reading, mowing his beautiful yard, crossword puzzles, genealogy, dancing, and playing with his grandkids and especially making people laugh. He was the life of the party.
He loved God and followed Jesus Christ. He served as a youth leader, deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Besides his wife, survivors include one brother Robert Randerson (Kim) of Red Oak TX; two daughters Ronda McMullin (Chad) of Sedalia MO and Rachel Randerson Russell of Keller TX; five grandchildren, Chance McMullin (Michaela), Chelsea and Chase McMullin, Brock and Sophia Russell; and one great granddaughter Saige McMullin. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Randerson.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, June 21st, 2019 at University Christian Church, Ft. Worth, Tx with Rev. Dr. Eldon Irving and Rev. Shannon Moore officiating.
The family will receive guests at the reception immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or University Christian Church.
