Rita grew up in Texas and South America. Rita was raised in the Southern Baptist faith and she attended Royal Haven Baptist Church in Farmers Branch, Texas. Rita graduated from Bella Vista School in Maracaibo and later from high school at San Marcos Baptist Academy. She attended nursing school in Dallas and received her Licensed Vocational Nurse degree.
Rita served many years caring for and advocating for senior citizens as an LVN, until she retired in 2016. She decided at a young age to become a Christian nurse, and she followed her calling throughout her entire career.
Rita enjoyed traveling, and antique shopping, and would enjoy taking small excursions to places where she could enjoy antiquing. She loved to laugh and dogs were very special to her. Rita was very independent. She had to deal with many challenges in her life, but never stopped appreciating life. Her family is comforted knowing she can rest at peace now in God’s comforting arms.
Rita was devoted to her family, parents and sisters and was always so delighted to gather and share updates, and be surrounded by her loving family. She also treasured her extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews just to name a few.
She is survived by her Parents, Ray and Betty Turner of Carrollton, Texas; sisters, Diana Turner and husband David Casey of Dallas, Texas, Penny Stamps and husband Keith Stamps currently living in Mexico, Brenda Turner of Dallas, Texas; and her granddaughter Tosha Reesor and great granddaughter Daniella Reesor. She is also survived by her niece Angela Stamps, nephews Timothy Stamps, his wife Elisa and their children, Christopher Casey and his wife Gianella, and by her dear aunts and uncles and cousins.
Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Reesor.
