January 16, 1923 – April 30, 2020
Laura Grieve passed peacefully on April 30 at the age of 97 in Three Links Manor, Kelowna. We thank Three Links for making her final months as positive as possible with their compassionate care. Laura will be lovingly remembered as a kind, humorous and genteel lady. She is survived by her sister Verna Routledge, son Michael (Denise) Grieve, grandchildren Eileen (Murray) Hurlbert, Fiona Grieve, and Andrew Grieve and great grandchildren Kaitlyn and Violet Hurlbert. Sadly, Laura was predeceased by her husband Harry, and sisters Sophie Foley, and Marion Bews, as well as her brother, Reginald Lee. Born in Vancouver, Laura arrived in Kelowna in 1947, and there made her life. Her 27 years as a R.N. ran the gamut from head of surgical ward at Kelowna Hospital to head nurse of the Underhill clinic. She and Harry celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary before his death in 1983 and she continued on to inspire us with her determination and independence, uplift us with her joyous and positive manner and enrich our lives with her presence for almost four more decades. Laura will be held in the hearts of her surviving nieces Shannon Bews Croft, Lee (Doug) Turner, Jaye Routledge, Verna (Chris) Howe and her nephews Stu (Adrienne) Routledge, Alan (Rose) Foley, John (Lilah) Foley, and Danny Lee. The date for a memorial service is still to be determined. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.valleyviewfuneralhome.com for the Grieve family.

I was so sad to see that Laura has passed. I loved her daily visits to the Front Desk at Missionwood and the joyful excitement that she and Verna shared to be living so close again. I have missed them both dearly since coming over to Sandalwood a few years ago and think of them often; "the Sisters" as many called them. Laura was such genuinely sweet, kind and loving soul, she will be so missed. From her bright smile to her infectious good nature...everybody adored her. She and Verna are truly blessed with one of the most supportive and caring families that have had the pleasure of getting to know. My thoughts are with you at this time.
