Margaret was born in Pelly Saskatchewan to John and Harriet Cronk. She was the oldest of 12 children, predeceased by her husband T. Laverne in 1993, daughter Dawn Adele Crowdis in 2007 as well as nine siblings.
Survived by and sorely missed her son Daryl (Dee) Utigard, grandchildren - Ryan Utigard, Shannon Bliss, David and Rachael Barrans, Kevin and Tara Rothermal, six great granddaughters and two great grandsons. She is also survived by her three sisters, Irene, Alice and Veda.
She loved to golf, curl and bowl mostly in Calgary where they moved to from Saskatoon in 1947. Margaret worked in the fashion industry dressing windows in Saskatoon in the 1940’s and in the early 1950’s in Calgary. She took care of the books for dad, at Utigard Carburetor and Electric Ltd. until they retired to Kelowna in 1986. She was a member of the Elks in Calgary from the 1950’s to 1986 (BPOE #4 Royal Purple).
A special thanks to Carol, Dylan and the staff at Village of Smith Creek, as well as the exceptional Doctor Michael Bobyn, for her care. Margaret was loved and respected by everyone that was introduced to her at Village of Smith Creek in her time there.
There will be a small family service once arrangements are made, at which time she will then be placed beside Laverne.
