Obituary of Diana Lynn Johnson
Diana Lynn Johnson, age 63, passed away on April 5, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. Diana was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 13, 1957 to Bennett Johnson, Jr. and the late Carnella Hampton Johnson. Diana had a love for many things, she loved to learn and read; she enjoyed helping her father with his publishing company Path Press Inc. as the Vice President. Diana was the life of the party; always she would light up a room with her wonderful personality. Diana wasn’t one to sit still. She was always traveling and going on new adventures; she couldn’t wait to go somewhere new. She was hard working. Diana was working as a Para Pro at Clayton County Board of Education while writing her thesis to complete her doctorate degree. She was a graduate of Evanston Township High School and began her college career at Clark University in Atlanta. Columbia College in Chicago awarded her a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her Master of Arts degree was earned at California State University in Northridge, California. Diana Johnson began her teaching career in Burbank, California and at Pasadena City College. In 2006 she travelled to Georgia and became an administrator at Clayton State University. Diana stunned people with her knowledge and how caring she was, she touched many people’s lives through working with many organizations including the Nontraditional Student Organization, Organizing Women for Academic Success and the Evanston/Northshore Branch of the NAACP in Evanston, Il. Diana was loved and she will be missed dearly. Diana is survived by her daughter, Ayana (Leonard) Huff of Marietta; sister, Kathryn Johnson of Lebanon; brother, Bennett Johnson III of Chicago; grandchildren, Victoria, Celeste, and Jackson Huff; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
