Ms. Odean was born to Arthur and Ida Mae Hunnicutt on September 15, 1937. She was one of four children.
She later met and married Charlie Wigington and the couple had two children together, Gary and Kevin. Their family later grew to include three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Odean Wigington is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Wigington; parents, Arthur and Ida Mae Hunnicutt; brother, Claud Pafford; sister, Jeanette Cotton; and daughter in law, Alisa Wigington. She is survived by her sons, Gary Wigington and his wife, Sue, of Jasper, Georgia and Kevin Wigington and his wife, Kim, of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Pat Cook and her husband, Bobby, of Marietta, Georgia; grandson, Gary Wigington Jr. and his wife, Margaux, of Marietta, Georgia; granddaughters, Kristen Wigington of Acworth, Georgia and Ineja Wigington of Acworth, Georgia; and great granddaughters, Taylor, Alexis, Mia, and Langley.
Ms. Odean had worked at the family business, General Supply, and as a telephone operator for Southern Bell. More than anything, she loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
She was a sweet woman who was fiercely loyal to her family. She believed in the power of prayer and was very active at her church, Eastwood Baptist. She enjoyed singing and was a member of her choir.
Ms. Odean also enjoyed going to the mountains, going to Macy's almost on a daily basis, and going junkin' with her sister. She loved Christmas and in turn was a large part in why her family also enjoyed Christmas so much. She would make sure everyone had a paper bag sized stocking or two, everyone's personalized present, and that special spirit that made the season worth celebrating.
