With his family by his side Lawrence Ricklefs Sr. a resident of Kenora passed away peacefully on December 9, 2019 at Pinecrest Home of the Aged, at the age of 78 years.
He is survived by his children Corinne Tomasson (Frank), Lawrence Ricklefs Jr. (Christina), Liz Ricklefs (Chris), Sheri Ricklefs (Jason), grandchildren – Dylan Ricklefs, Erik Tomasson, Kristin Tomasson, Hunter Ricklefs, Darcy Boucha and Alana Boucha. As well as siblings – Dorothea Johnson (Larry) and Donna Gail Lecot (Albert), sister-in-law’s Bernice Ricklefs and Yvette Ricklefs, his close cousin Jack Folster (Caren) and many other cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents Fredrick & Elizabeth (Eliza) Ricklefs, his brothers Walter Ricklefs and Marty (Martin) Ricklefs, his nephew Marcel Lecot.
Lawrence was born in Rainy River, Ontario and grew up on Lake of the Woods on a houseboat. His career as an equipment operator in the bush relocated him to Sioux Narrows, Ear Falls, Vermilion Bay and then later moved to Kenora, ON. In his retirement years he worked as a fishing guide. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most importantly he enjoyed visiting with family and friends. You could always find him smiling as he watched his grandkids.

A Celebration of Lawrence’s Life will be held on the May long weekend of 2020 and will be announced at a later date. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre has been entrusted with the arrangements, with burial at the Pineridge Cemetery in Sioux Narrows, Ontario.
