Wilfred Brian Symonds October 9, 1935 – November 12, 2020

It is with heavy hearts we announce Wilf’s peaceful passing at Lake of the Woods District Hospital with his daughters by his side.

Survived by daughter Sherri (Don) Fleming, daughter Karen (Jerry) Morrell, partner June Motheral, stepdaughter Tracy (Ian) Pyke, stepson Todd (Karri) Venn, and nephew Tim Park. Predeceased by parents Frank and Joyce Symonds, son Rodney Symonds, sister Alice Park, nieces Elizabeth Mannella, Ivy Camire, Francis Park, and various other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wilf was employed at CP Rail for most of his working life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his camp on Lake of the Woods, or as he would call it “God’s paradise.”

He was a member of Mt. Evergreen Ski Club and enjoyed downhill racing. He spent many a winter weekend driving young downhill racers to events throughout NW Ontario and Manitoba. He was the best dad ever and will be forever in our hearts.

Dear Sherry, Karen, June and Family
So very sorry to hear of Wilf's passing. I had a great time working with him at C.P. and wonderful memories of jumping in our boat from our camp Fox Island and dropping by on the spur of the moment to visit Wilf and June at Brule Point. We were always welcome. Door was always open and drinks were always on. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
