Ronald Eugene Fawver Sr. passed away surrounded by family on September 5, 2023 at the age of 76. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 12. Funeral Services will be at 12:30Pm on Wednesday, September 13, at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery.
Ron joined the Army at the age of 18 and served 20 years before retiring from D Co 502nd Aviation BN 2nd AD at Fort Hood TX. During his time in the Army he served in the Vietnam War and was also stationed at Fort Benning Georgia, Fort Knox Kentucky, Aschaffenburg Germany, Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland, Fort Eustis VA, Hanau Germany, and then Fort Hood Texas. He also worked at BLORA as security for 15 years and continued on as camp host after her retired from there up until the day he went in the hospital.
Ron was a very kind and proud man that loved and took care of his family, friends and really anyone who needed his help. From the time he was old enough he raced everything from go carts, to drag racing and then dirt track racing. He liked watching Nascar races and football. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
Ron was born in Canton, Ohio on March 18, 1947 to Helen Royer and Harvey Fawver. He was also blessed to have another father, Edwin Lohmann, who raised him from a young boy until he left for the Army.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, also by his sister, Becky, and his Great Grandson Dakota Joseph Broussard.
Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years Terri Fawver, and his children, Rhonda Roysdon (Kenny), Robin Linton, Ron Fawver, Jr. (Rachel). He is also survived by siblings Cheryl Elhard, Lonnie Wengerd, Theresa Homerski, and Glen Lohmann. Survivors also include grandchildren Heather, Craig, Brett, Brandon, Marissa, Sierra, and Jayce. He is also survived by Great Grandchildren Kenneth, Trae, Cheyenne, Shayna, Madeline, Kylee, Alisha, Johnnie, Hayden, Brandon Jr, Legend, Amelia, Jayce, and Jordan.
