On Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2019, Gene Inglett went home in the arms of Christ his savior.

Gone Before him to prepare his place in Heaven is his loving wife of 45 years, Carolyn Inglett; his parents, Jesse and Haezel Inglett; brother, Mickey Inglett; sister, Martha Corrine Inglett; and his sister-in-law, Marie Inglett.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Elizabeth Anne “Bethanne” Inglett; four grandchildren, Sean Inglett, Hayley Garland, Dariean Dunn, and Tyler Dunn; brothers, Ricky Inglett & wife Freda, Earl Inglett, and Ronald L. Holcombe & wife Gloria; sister, Wanda Inglett; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends.

Gene gave Eastman Chemical Company 35 years of dedicated service as a pipe fitter and a welder and then continued his career at Flora Daniels until he retired. He enjoyed golfing, handyman work, his dogs, woodworking, watching Alabama football, and volunteering his time at Warriors Path golf course. Gene was a past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge in Kingsport. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He often traveled from his home in Kingsport, Tennessee to visit family in Augusta, Georgia and Summerville, South Carolina. He always had a story or some wisdom to tell. He and Carolyn had a love like no other and have finally been reunited to live together happily for eternity.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at East Lawn Funeral home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor David Luster officiating.

Gene will be laid to rest immediately following the service at 3:00pm in the Garden of the Apostles at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pall bearers.

Gene was always there for me if I needed anything. He was the type of man boys aspire to be. Truly one of the best people to walk this earth. Rest easy, and I hope the golf greens are always open for you.

Gene was a amazing individual, mentor and grandfather. Being able to be apart of his life growing up was a blessing. He always treated me as if I was a grandson.

I’m so sorry for you loss. I have very fond memories of Gene and Carolyn over the years. They were like a second set of grandparents to our son Zach. They were both very caring, kindhearted couple and they will be missed.

There are so many memories of our highschool days that will live forever. Gene was always a kind and compassionate person. When he met Carolyn, we all knew that they were soulmates.
He will be missed, but I know he is much happier being with her than here on earth.
