Pearline Harless Meade, 89, entered in to the arms of Jesus on Tuesday (May 22, 2018) surrounded by her loving family at her home. Pearline was born on January 28, 1929 in Lebanon, VA to the late Arch Sanders & Mary Alice (Mertter) Harless.
Pearline was a hard worker who had a heart of gold and always put everyone’s needs before her own; she would move mountains for anyone she knew. She was the strongest woman her family has ever known. Pearline was always her children’s greatest supporter and fan. Pearline always made everyone feel welcome and never turned anyone away. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Pearline was preceded in death by her husbands, Sidney Gilman and Palmer Meade; her daughter, Pamela Meade; and sons, Michael Meade, David Gilman, and Sidney Gilman; sisters, Mary Lou Boardwine, Leoma Garrett, and Betty Harless.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Teresa Ray Meade, Deborah Seckler, and Carolyn Woods; son, Jeffrey Meade; grandchildren, Jessica Whitley & husband Kerry, Toshia Ray, Chelsey Ray & husband Adam, Jamie Woods, Lance Woods, Jackie Lee Gilman & wife Kim, Tyler Seckler, Brooke Seckler, Priscilla Gilman, Joel Gilman, Derrick Gilman, Dwayne Gilman, and Amanda Gilman; several great-grandchildren, Kannon, Kaydence, Kolton, Kyllie, Gavin, Ariel, Joey, Jordan, Jadah, Barry Cort, Jayla, Hunter, Shawn, and Billy; special friends, Sherry Ray and Judy Light; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday (May 27, 2018) from 1 to 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home at 2 p.m with Pastor Cecil Sturgill officiating.
Pearline will be laid to rest on Sunday (May 27, 2018) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of Everlasting Life III at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Kerry Whitley, Adam McClellan, Jamie Woods, Jackie Lee Gilman, Derrick Gilman, and Dwayne Gilman.
