Karen Gregory Woodring, age 66, of Knoxville TN passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Parkwest Hospital. She owned and operated Orange Curl Salon since 1974. Karen was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, James Edward Woodring; father, Billy Barnes Gregory; mother, Elyse Cranford Gregory. Survived by son, Michael Edward Woodring; step-mother Ruth Gregory; brother, Michael Gregory and wife Marilyn; sisters, Dallas Tyree and husband Robert, Brenda Gilliam and husband Larry, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. The family will receive friends Sunday July 29, 2018 from 3:00- 5:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church (2109 Piney Grove Church Rd, Knoxville, TN 37931) Pastor Rick Lemons and Rev. Oh what a Wonderful Soul!! Working for you since 1990 was such a gift!! God Blessed all of us with you Karen and our Orange Curl Family!! I can't imagine what Life would have been like had I not joined The OC all those years ago. Karen Woodring was the most amazing Boss and Friend and Mentor ever!! Her Family became our Family. I am so sad to hear of Karen’s passing. She was my very best friend as a child. Although we lost touch after college, I thought of her often. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I am blessed to have known her and her family. My most sincere condolences to the family. Debbie Wiles/Hannon
