Max Hershel Dyke

Max Hershel Dyke, age 72 of Sharps Chapel, received his healing on July 11, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vasco and Sara Elizabeth Dyke; sisters, June Ott, Bonnie Goddard and Bessie Dyke; brother, Harold Dyke; brother in-law, Carrol Booker. Max was survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Dyke; son, Michael Scott Dyke and wife Colleen; daughter, Michelle Rule and husband Keith; grandchildren, Katie “Big Kat” Rains, Jacob and Carrie Rule; great grandchildren, "The Three Bears"; brothers, Bud, Bruce and Donnie Dyke; sisters, Faye Keck, Zettie Booker, Alice Sexton and Ruby Sexton; special brothers in-law, Jay Goddard and Harold Brantley; host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 14th, from 4-6 PM at Berry Highland South Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 6 PM in the funeral home chapel. A celebration reception will immediately follow in the funeral home event room. Due to scheduling, a graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, July 16th, at 9:30 AM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
