OBITUARY

David Michael Brewster

April 6, 1944March 14, 2019

David Michael Brewster, 74, of Kokomo passed away suddenly at his home March 14, 2019. David was born in Mandan, North Dakota on April 6, 1944 to Maurice and Frances (Buckley) Brewster. David earned a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering and then a MBA from Purdue University. In 1971 he married Shirley Hoover. Together they raised a daughter, Amy. David was employed by Delco for more than 32 years, retiring in 1999. Early in their marriage, David and Shirley would vacation in North Dakota to help with his mother’s ranch, then later in life they began traveling to other national parks, David’s favorite was Zion National Park in Utah. He also loved to golf and together they would visit Myrtle Beach for time on the course in the sun. As the grandchildren came along, they became his life. David was very involved with the grandkids and loved spending time with each of them, going to all of their extracurricular activities and having them over every weekend. Family was the most important thing and they all relied on one another. His sudden departure from this earth will impact them all greatly and he will be missed. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mark Manyhorses. David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley; sister, Sharon Manyhorses; brother, Wayne (Lil) Brewster; daughter, Amy (Larry) Netherton; and grandchildren Mercedes, Trenton, Slater and Callie. According to David’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service, but a private family remembrance service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bona Vista, PO Box 2496, Kokomo, IN 46904.

So sorry to hear of David's passing, condolences and prayers for family.

Memories of good times on Victor Ct. in the summer of the 70's, 80's sitting out front of house with Jerry Firth, Don Liska, and the Warners. Always good conversations. David always the calm and collected one. Hard to believe Jerry and David gone.
David was good man, we always enjoyed our time with him and our time as a neighbor.

R.I.P our friend.

We are so sorry to hear of cousin David's passing. We will long remember attending your wedding and visiting you in Kokomo. I grew up near David in Breien, ND and have fond memories of our time together in 4-H, after church on Sundays, and family gatherings.

Sad to hear of David's passing, but grateful to have known him so long... From the beginning in 1969, until now, an interesting and entertaining conversation was always in store at Brewster House. I remember being in Awe upon the discovery of a certain English Sports Car in his garage in the 70's..... You are missed each day by many family and friends, look down and smile - and rest peacefully..... Richard and Liz, Washington DC
