Joyce Elaine Liggin, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her home in Kokomo. She was born on May 5, 1940 in Marion, Indiana to the late Aldo Lawrence and Esther Corean (Ward) Pettiford. Joyce graduated from Marion High School in 1958, and then married David Othello Liggin Sr. on October 1, 1960. David preceded Joyce in passing on February 25, 1983. Joyce worked at Delco Electronics in Kokomo for 32 years before retiring, and then worked at Sam’s Club as a door greeter for 15 years. Joyce accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Kokomo, and loved her pastor as well as her Church family. In her younger years, she found enjoyment in tending to yardwork and gardening. She also enjoyed playing cards, watching football and basketball games, and watching home design shows and HGTV. Joyce also had fun by going to casinos, and loved playing the penny slot machines. Joyce is survived by her sons, Aldo Maurice Pettiford of Palm Springs, California, and David Othello (Trina) Liggin Jr. of Sierra Vista, Arizona; daughters, Marcia Liggin, Pamela (Phillip Burks) Liggin, and June Nadine Liggin all of Kokomo; sister, Monaei (McFarren) Wright of Kokomo; grandchildren, Jerry Liggin, Mark Y.N. I had the great pleasure to know and work with Joyce as a door greeter. We joked, laughed and cried together. We confined in one another, there wasn't anything we couldn't talk about. We made trips to Anderson. That was a ball. Joyce was just a fun, kind, caring person to be with. I will sadly miss you, love ya
