1923-2014 LaGrange, Kentucky- Lillian Ruth Brandi, 91, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 in LaGrange, Kentucky. Devoted wife of the late Joseph Brandi, and loving mother of her children, Jay Brandi (Mary Ellen), Terry Brandi (Terry) and Kathleen Francis (Bill) she lived a full and satisfying life. Lillian was born March 5, 1923 to Jon and Alta Docherty in Bennington, Vermont. She was their youngest child and was preceded in death by her brother Paul Docherty, and sisters Edna Stanley and Opal Lindsay. Lillian was a talented artist working both in canvas and ceramics with a special talent for dogs and landscapes. For many years she raised, and trained and showed dogs, with her entries willing many events to include Best of Breeds at the famed Westminster Kennel Club show in New York, N.Y.. She served for many years as officer for her local Kennel Club in New Jersey. In addition to painting and working with her dogs, she loved bowling and playing bocce especially with her husband Joseph. Lillian is survived by her children, her 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Lillian’s family would like to thank the kind women at The Cottages of LaGrange where she was cared for so livingly in her last days. Visitation will be at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange on Thursday, May 15 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Memorial service at 6:00 PM. There will also be a mass of Remembrance at St. Louis Bertrand Church in Louisville on Friday, May 18 at 9:30 Am. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy she will be interred next to her loving husband Joseph at the Veteran’s Cemetery at Fort Knox on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 Online condolences can be made at

My thoughts and prayers to Lillians family! Joe and Lillian were neighbors in Wallomsac, ny for a few years, ! The house which Eleanor and Bob Baldwin lived and raised their family in the house where they lived!! I remember her with the dogs in children,. I Mom and i remember her with her dogs in her arms and on her lap, when i used to visit them !! RIP, ! Julie and Ellie Baldwin, ! Were good people and good neighbors!! i also remeber that one year a tonado came through the vally, and brought along an injured goose by the feild!! Good times,!!
