I have so many wonderful memories growing up with Grandpa but one of my fondest include our many trips to Burger King in the bed of his truck where he would always say “would you like some fries with your ketchup” To this day, I think of him every time I smother my fries in ketchup (which is every single time!). I still have the dresser he made for me when I was 8. It has has made it through every single move since then and still looks great. Truly the best memory I have of him was that he was always there (I could always count on seeing his face and hearing him say “that’s my little bit”); he was there for every mile stone and major event in my life and was just 2 streets over anytime I needed anything growing up. Singing birthday messages will not be the same without him and I will miss him dearly, but I know I’ll see him again one day.

Sending all of my love to the Maddox family. I always enjoyed going on family vacations to visit my Florida family. Fritz and Anna always made sure we had a great time. It was always wonderful when the family could visit us in Iowa too. It meant a lot to me that they were able to attend my daughters wedding 2 years ago. Unfortunately that was the last time I was able to see Fritz with his wonderful smile and great laugh. These characteristics will definitely live on in his children. Fritz was a great uncle and will definitely be missed. Love, Darla

Dearest Ann and all of the family,
We have wonderful memories throughout the years from when our children met and married. Fred was always kind and gentle and showed how much he cared for us. He was fun to be around and we loved listening to his stories of life, a life that he relished.
God be with you till we met again!
Love, Josie and Everett Jaswmin

I hold so many memories of Grandpa dear in my heart. He was full of joy and humor. He loved doing activities and sharing them with others. I had the pleasure of playing golf with him a few times and it was full of smiles and laughter! I would hit one good shot out of ten and he would praise as if I was a pro, "Give me a little bit of that!" He would say. The other 9 bad shots he would say, "We gotta go digging in the trees for that one!" or "Here's another ball, do what you did that last time back there."
Between the holes we would catch up: talk about family, friends, life and share a wonderful connection. He is an example to me as a man, father, husband, and friend. I will miss him and he will always have a place in my heart.
Love,
Lucas

Grandpa was a consistent example of joy and love. He was often tickling us and talking in silly, high-pitched voices. He shared silly stories of how he and Grandma missed the bus in Alaska and had to walk to the cruise ship. Or how he would stand outside at the power plant to watch my dad drive in late to work, tapping his wrist to remind my dad of the time. He led our family well, showing his love for us and God in all he did. I am so thankful to have had this example in my life and to see his legacy live on through my dad.

When I think of my grandpa, I think of laughter, tickles, playing Aggravation, wiping up every last speck of food from a plate with a piece of bread, stories of his time in France and on the Mediterranean sea, hearing him and grandma sing happy birthday to me every year, the way he sat in his garage waiting for us when he knew that we were coming to visit, how his hands were both strong and gentle at the same time, how he showed me which of the slot machines at the arcade were the unlucky ones.

I am sad that I will no longer be able to spend time with him here in this world . But, more than that, I am so happy and so thankful that he was my grandpa. I am thankful that he was nothing but a loving, kind, fun grandpa in my life. And now, as I see my dad loving my own daughter and making her laugh, I know my grandpa’s spirit will continue to live on and continue to fill our lives with happiness and love.

Grandpa was one of my favorite people. From riding in his truck with my knee as the shifter to eating $1 junior whoppers at Burger King, these wonderful memories will never leave me. He always had me laughing with his sayings like "snorfling" or saying something is "for the birds." It is my hope I can bring joy to countless people like he did throughout his life. I will miss you dearly, Grandpa.
