Casimir Grodziak

Casimir Grodziak, 94, passed away January 28, 2019 at the Green Acres Manor in Toms River. Mr. Grodziak was born and raised in Queens, NY, moved to NY, Westfield, NJ, Berkley Heights, NJ and finally settling in Toms River, NJ for the past 23 years. Casimir served in the US Army Air Corps in Guam during World War II. He worked as a Foreman for the Union County Plate Glass Company. Mr. Grodziak was very active in the St. Mary of the Lake Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Alter Server and CCD Teacher for over 25 years. He was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to play cards with his friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Grodziak is predeceased by his sons, Daniel and Richard and sister, Theresa Russell. Casimir is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jessie, sons, Peter Grodziak and his wife Eileen and Matthew Grodziak, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5-8PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11AM at the St. Luke RC Church, Toms River. Cremation will be held privately. I was blessed to have Grandad in my life. He was an amazing man. His love of God was evident in how he lived his life. I have too many good memories of him to choose just one. I thank him for the love and kindness he always showed me. I will miss him and his beautiful smile.
