Reynold F. ‘Rennie’ Castellano, 81, died on November 16, 2018 surrounded by his family. Reynold was born in New York City and raised in East Harlem and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during Peacetime and during the Lebanon war. Rennie worked for Apple Bank in New York City as the AVP for many years, retiring in 2000. He moved to the Bronx and then Bergenfield NJ before moving with his wife, Maria and his children to Lakewood N.J in 1970 where he was active in the Knights of Columbus and The Dominican Laity. Reynold was known for his selflessness, his sense of humor, enormous gift for friendship and as a perpetual caregiver. Reynold liked cooking often barbequing for his organization’s activities, later in life he also took up bowling, but his great and abiding joy was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a beloved brother and dear friend who touched and helped many.
Reynold is predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years Maria, parents, Fred and Victoria Castellano.
Reynold is survived by his children, Anthony Castellano and his wife Velda, Nancy Castellano and her spouse Tommy Drozd, and Eva Uyar and her husband Tahsin by four cherished grandchildren, Keith(Jasmyn), Mary, Michael, and Mustafa.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 2-4, and 7-9 PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 12 Noon, at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood, NJ. Entombment will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Lakewood.
