Roy Egleston, age 82, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020. Roy was born in New York City, raised in upstate New York. He later moved to Astoria, Queens where he graduated from Bryant High School in 1956. Roy served in the US Air Force from 1956 to 1962. He was a member of the Teamster's Union through the Shell Oil Corporation in Seawaren, NJ. Mr. Egleston served as "The Doc" from 1973 to 1981 for Pop Warner Football and as the Coach of the Howell Central Little League. He was an avid antique car enthusiast and loved to play the scratch off lottery, but his true passion in life was spending time with his loving family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Egleston is predeceased by his brother, Neil.
Roy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia, sons, Michael and his wife Kim, James and his wife Debra and Rob, grandchildren, Ashley, James, Stephanie, Mackenzie, Jessica, Payton and Madden and brother, Raymond and his wife Cecilia of Vero Beach.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 12-2PM at the D'Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Memorial Service will be held immediately following. Cremation will be held privately.
