Bernard Lee Mumford, 87 of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Bernard was born on September 5th, 1933 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Hubert and Helen Mumford. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Bernard had worked as a mechanical engineer for many years, retiring from Worthington Industries.
Bernard is survived by his brother, Orris of Lancaster; niece Sondra Barton of Newark; nephew, Kim Miller of Alabama; step-daughter, Laura Plemens; grandsons, Justin Plemens and Shane Suhr; granddaughter, Christy Rowbotham; great-granddaughter, Jalynn Zarbaugh; several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucille Mumford; sister, Virginia Mumford; sister, Norma (Mumford) Miller; infant brother, Frank; sister-in-law, Ruth Mumford; and brother-in-law, Dale Miller.
Dignity Cremation is to take place through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will take place at Crown City Cemetery in Crown City, Ohio at a later date.
