Billie Jean Dobson, age 61 of China Grove, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at NOVANT-Rowan Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. Born July 25, 1959 in Halifax, VA to the late William and Augusta Mae Franklin Dobson.

Billie was a 1978 graduate of South Rowan High School and then went on to Western Carolina University with a BS in Early Childhood Education. She spent her career educating young children and working in the daycare arena. After that period, she would volunteer at the local area nursing homes doing activities with the residents. She was a people person and never met a stranger. Billie enjoyed spending time with others and loved the company provided by her precious dog, Toby.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bobbie D. Trail and husband, Jimmy of China Grove. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, friends and extended family.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 2:00 - 2:45pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Graveside Service will follow at 3:00pm at West Lawn Memorial Park officiated by Tommy Steele. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.advantagelandis.com. Advantage-Landis and Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family of Ms. Dobson.

Billy was a sweet and kind soul! We worked together years ago and became friends. I'm so very sorry to learn of her passing. I thought about her just last week and now to see this, really makes me sad. Fond memories will forever remain in my heart. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.

Billie was part of our gang during high school. Her smile, her sweet and gentle soul was an anchor to us all. So many memories of laughter and piling into "The Thing" to go places and do things together. We know you have found God's peace sweet lady.

I was blessed to have had you first as my Head Teacher at Bright Horizons and then as my friend. I enjoyed getting together for dinner and great conversations. You made a difference in so many children and families lives
Anyone that knew you were blessed. Everytime I see a ladybug I always think of you. R. I. P. With your Mom still remember her funeral. I know you are rejoined with her now and am comforted to know you are no longer struggling. My thoughts and prayers to your sister Bobbie and other family and friends .
