Captain Jens Frydenlund October 26, 1923 - February 18, 2013 "You gotta be lucky to be lucky!" And that he was...Jens Harald Frydenlund, 89, of White Rock, BC, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Peace Arch Hospice. Born in Bremanger, Norway to Leif and Ragna Frydenlund he moved to Canada at the age of two with his family and spent his early years in Maple Creek, SK and Bralorne, BC. He lived most of his adult life in Vancouver and Tsawwassen, and settled in White Rock in 1992. Jens was a quiet man with a dry sense of humour, who enjoyed spending time with family and vacationing in warm destinations. He was a veteran, master seaman, and a commercial fisherman, loving father and proud Norwegian. Jens worked for many years at Ocean Fisheries Ltd. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Margaret (Hutchison) Frydenlund. Jens was extremely loving and proud of his three daughters: Joyce (Ian), Carol and Louise (Doug); his three grandchildren, Brad, Ryan and Raven; and his step-grandchildren Derek and Jeff (Carly). He leaves behind many loving friends, as well as many relatives in Canada, Norway, Scotland and the USA. The family invites friends to join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Henderson's Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Jens' name to the BC branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
