Dennis Ray Rathbun, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. Born March 27, 1946 to Cleon and Beatrice (Calendar) Rathbun in Nebraska, Dennis was a longtime MSU employee who loved old cars, studying the history of Lansing, and his daily trips to QD for donuts and a newspaper. He was a faithful member of Judson Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Rathbun, and his parents.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Dan Rathbun and Randall Rathbun; his stepchildren, Tracy Bennett, Ricky Bennett, and Carla Bennett; his many grandchildren; and his dear friend Florence.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Interment will following in Forestlawn memorial Gardens in Dimondale.
