Ed was predeceased by two sons Michael and Brian, parents Ed and Lorene (Ridpath) Banner, and brother David Banner.
He is survived by wife, Carol (Weck), son Craig, sister Linda (Mike) Bliss, cousin Wayne (Joan) Banner.
Ed liked to cook and was an avid sportsman, loved to hunt and play baseball with his boys.
Ed gave 3 years to the U.S. Army, 30 years to General Motors and 52 years to his wife. He loved his family, his pickups and his time on a lake.
He spent 24 winters in Florida where he fished and played pinochle, euchre and canasta with his many friends from Trailer Estates in Bradenton. Summers were always in Michigan with a fishing pole in hand.
Every day for the last 4 years Ed verbally kicked himself for every cigarette he ever smoked. Lung cancer took his life.
A visitation for Ed will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation1 hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing.
