Von Atzingen, Frank M., 90, of Seminole, FL, died Jan 30, 2013. Frank was born in Paterson, NJ and moved to Florida in 1980 from North Haledon, NJ where he retired as Police Chief. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army, St. Jerome Catholic Church, Largo, American Legion Post #248, North Haledon, Passaic County Police Chiefs Association, Life member P.D.D.G.E.R. Elks Lodge Holiday Isles #1912 and Endowment Member NRA. Frank taught youth firearm safety, held classes and wrote several articles on drug abuse, spoke to youth on many occasion on safety, spoke to Boy Scouts on their programs and volunteered at the police academy.
Frank is survived by his wife, Alice; son, John (Gloria) Von Atzingen, Hewitt, NJ; sister, Caroline DeFranz, Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Lisa and Robert; 3 great grandchildren; niece, Carol DeFranz, Oldsmar as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory to Suncoast Hospice (Woodside), 5770 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
