She was born on October 10, 1933, in Lynchburg, Tennessee, to Paul Simpson and Jessie Philpot. In 1968, Virginia moved to Florida, where she built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family.
Virginia worked for Pantry Pride and later became a manager at McCrory’s at Disston Plaza. She worked long hours and took great pride in her career, often reflecting on how far she had come as a young farm girl. Her strong work ethic and determination were qualities she carried throughout her life.
She was a devoted member of Calvary Chapel in St. Petersburg. Known affectionately as “Ginny,” Virginia had a deep love for gardening and was cherished for her warm smiles, big hugs, and kind words of encouragement that she freely shared with everyone she met.
Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Kuchle; her sons, Paul and Wayne Thompson; her special sister, Florence Russ; and her brothers, Lucus, Van and Jack Simpson. She now reunites with them in peace.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Myers; granddaughter, April and Keith Myers; son-in-law, Doug Kuchle; grandsons, Shane, Sean, and Chase Kuchle; and her sister in law, Mary.
Virginia’s kindness, strength, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
