Al “Pops” Medina, age 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Alfred was born December 20, 1942, in Colorado Springs, CO, to parents Alfred and Josephine Medina.
Al lived in Price, Utah for most of his childhood, and went to Carbon High School, before residing in Las Vegas, NV. Al lived a fearless life, in his childhood he was very thin, but he did not let this affect him, even when the nickname ‘bones’ was reluctantly bestowed upon him. Later, Al worked in security, as a bouncer and as a bodyguard, before starting his career with United Airlines in 1969. Al retired from United Airlines in 2009. He had a passion for fitness and for his Father and Son business, Corporate Wellness Productions. Alfred also loved working outdoors and keeping not only his landscaping on point, but also is daughter’s and son’s as well. But nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He was always immensely proud of his children.
Al met his wife, Shirley Jean Foster, in 1964. They were married for 52 years. Together they had two wonderful children, his daughter Trina, and his son Alan. To cherish his memory, Al leaves behind, his wife, Shirley; his children, Trina, and Alan; his granddaughter, Gianna; his brother’s Paul Medina and Candy Manzanares; his sister Rosalie Manzanares and many friends.
