Ivorlene Siran BOBO

June 22, 1932February 3, 2021

Ivorlene Sirann Bobo (Daniels) was born in Beggs, OK on June 22, 1932 to the proud parents, Frank and Bessie Daniels. She was the 2nd oldest of 10 children.

Ivorlene accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an age early and was baptized in the community of Spring Bluff, OK. She remained a faithful servant, keeping God close in her heart. She was an active member of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Compton CA until she became ill.

After graduating from Wheatley High, Beggs, OK in 1951, she moved to Tulsa, OK where she obtained employment with a Cleaner’s establishment for many years.

During her time in Tulsa, she met and fell in love with J. C. Bobo (who preceeded her in death) from Fallis, OK. They were joined in Holy matrimony February 1956. Of this union, a beautiful baby boy, Denorval J. Bobo, was born.

Ivorlene and J.C. moved to Long Beach Ca, and later to Compton, CA. She worked at Long Beach General Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide until her retirement.

Affectionately known to her family as Auntie, was a warm spirit. Her nature was very fun loving, nurturing and caring. Everyone in her neighborhood knew and loved her dearly. She was the aunt that always made sure that you had something to eat, even if it was nothing more than fruit she would give. No one was a stranger to her, for she would talk to and treat everyone as if she had known you for years.

One day at a time: Yesterday is dead, tomorrow is unborn, so there is nothing to mourn. So, let us take one day at a time; For all that is past and that has been can never return to be lived once again; So, let us take one day at a time…

We celebrate the life of Ivorlene as she leaves to mourn; her beloved son, Denorval “Nauv” J. Bobo, (6) Six sisters: Mable Wilson and Thelma “Lurdie” Pearson both of Tulsa, OK; Kupie Hughes of Seattle, WA; Earthel Fields and Evelyn Pearson both of Las Vegas, NV; Velma Taylor (cousin/raised as sisters) of Beggs, OK. She was a major instrument in raising her baby sister Lurdie while she lived with her in Long Beach, California. And to the credit of her sister Earthel, whom she lived with and was cared for up to Ivorlene final days here on earth. Also, to her special and forever sister-in-law, Yvonne Lewis of Okmulgee, OK. She was preceeded in death by siblings: (3) brothers – Rufus Carl, Ulysses “Dutt” Gideon, Ernest Joe and (1) sister – Nannye B. Talton.

Ivorlene leaves behind a mountain of nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends, esp her Stockwell family in Compton, CA. A special love and bond with nieces Tammie Graves of Okmulgee, OK, Grecian Standley of Suffolk, VA, Didi Pearson of Tulsa, OK, Buffy Daniels of Okmulgee, OK, Ronda Myers of Las Vegas and a special love and fondness for (2) great nieces T’Moiya (who she called Jaws) Troope and her heart, Johnne (who she called Cherry) Walker.
