Kandice “Kandy” “KP” “Grammy” Patricia Border went home to be the Lord on Monday January 17, 2022 at the age of 74. She was born in Greenville, SC and lived in many different states across the country before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 2002 where she lived for 20 years before she passed. Kandy is survived by her husband, Gary, her two children and their spouses, Scott & Jen and Jeff & Monica, and three grandchildren, Alicia, Raleigh, and Addison as well as her sister Kathy. Kandy was a loving, kind, and generous woman and everyone she met has stories of the joy she had, the love she shared, and the light she was. Kandy’s faith was deep and complete. She was devoted to living each day in a way that honored God and loved everyone she met in an example of His love. She was a true example of what it means to be a Christian. She was passionate about children and animals and surrounded herself with both. As her children were growing up, she volunteered at their schools to be closer to them and to help with the other children. She volunteered in the nursery at The Crossing church for 20 years helping to nurture babies and be of service to new parents. Kandy also volunteered at Summerlin Hospital in the pediatric unit playing with the children. Throughout her life, she had many pets who were all adopted and given a wonderful home with her and her family. Because of this love of animals, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Kandy’s honor to the ASPCA. Kandy will be missed every day by all who knew her, but we rest in the assurance of knowing she is now with the Lord and joyfully reuniting with loved ones in heaven (both human and animal). Until we meet again in heaven - we love you, Grammy.
