Providence Pascua Evangelista passed away on July 30, 2021, at the age of 90 years old at Horizon Specialty Hospital in Henderson, NV, due to respiratory failure.
Providence was born in Bacarra, llocos Norte, Philippines on November 16, 1930. The only child of Alejandro and Quintina Pascua, she preferred to be called "Eden" by her family and friends.
Eden received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Divine Word College, Laoag City, Philippines.
She met her husband Jesus Castro Evangelista who was also a teacher and Principal at one of the elementary schools in the same town. They were blessed with three children Maricris, Mariano, and Redentor. Eden stayed home to take of their three children. After six years of marriage, her husband, Jesus, died, so she decided to take a job as a teacher as far as Zamboanga, Isabela, Philippines, and finally back home in llocos. Her mother helped her raise her three children while she was away, and her father, who was working in Hawaii, helped provide financially for her childrens' college education.
In 1986, Eden retired and immigrated to the United States. She resided with her daughter in California for 13 years to help take care of her grandchildren. She spent her last 22 years in Las Vegas/Henderson, Nevada, with her daughter and enjoying the company of her great-grandchildren.
Eden was a loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was kind and cared for all her family and friends. She had a love for music, which she expressed by playing the piano, violin, harp, accordion and ukulele. She was a very religious and prayerful woman until her last days.
Eden will forever be remembered by her children Maricris (Rodrigo), Mariano (Crissa), Redentor (Edna); grandchildren Normanjames (Damaris), Marlonjames (Amberlee), Marvin (Patricia), Redentor Jr. (Melanie), Sharon and Mariel; and great-grandchildren Rylee James, Naeorni Jayde, Ella Marie, Orion James, Noel and Maddie.
