Richard "Butch" Dean, age 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. He was born August 24, 1943 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Henry and Gladys Dean.
He was married to Sonya "Sunny" Dean for 56 years.
Richard built race cards locally since the 1960's and owned his own shop, Valley Performance. His knowledge and expertise helped countless drivers in Las Vegas. In 2022, he was inducted into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya; his sons, Patrick (Tiffani) and J.C., both of whom are involved in racing; his grandsons, James (Ashley) and Jordan (Jozee), whom are also both involved in racing; granddaughters, Madison, Makenzie, Ashli and Breane; granddaughter, Emma and sister, Linda "Toots" Ortega.
He will always be remembered as a truly nice guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
