With the passing of Terrence Noose, my Uncle Terry, on November 19, the three brothers are all gone now. Incredible men - for many decades the heart of the Noose Family; Eugene, the oldest, Ted, the middle son, and, of course, Uncle Terry, the youngest, whose death is hard felt by many today. Devoted brothers, they cared deeply for each other and for the values that they shared: love for their wives and families, commitment to close friends, hard work, home, an extraordinary sense of humor, and the willingness to stand up for the things that they believed in.

The brothers were veterans; Eugene in the Occupation Army at the end of WWII, Ted, a decorated combat Marine in Korea, and Terrence, a veteran of the Cold War in Europe associated with aircraft and armor.

Terrence was a wonderful Uncle, especially during my youth in the 50’s and 60’s. My own son, Chris, has some of the foreign coins that Uncle Terry gave to me when he returned from Europe. My nephew, an accomplished Scout, received Terry’s old (antique) Scouting Handbooks. I still have Uncle Terry’s scout knife. Terrence had such a cadre of lifelong friends!

But mostly what Terrence gave to this family was his lovely Wife and my Aunt, Joan, and his children, Greg, Patty and Mike. I am thankful to have known all of them and to be on the receiving end of such good care, good humor and friendship.

Our paths took us in different directions and to far corners of this country. But there were still a few good talks and political discussions with this curious and thoughtful man. And, of course, loving support during previous times of sadness and loss.

Thanks, Uncle Terry. Rest in Peace. Thoughts and prayers. Gregory Noose, Montana.
