When Thairras Edward Laxton entered this world Friday January 14, 2000 he arrived with readiness. The blessing of his childhood to his teenage years and becoming the admired and accomplished man made his family very proud. He stepped right into leadership.
He began the call to service at 17 years young with the ROTC during high school. This had a major influence on him. The ROTC molded him and prepared a path of discipline and adventure.
Specialist Thairras Laxton, Headquarters Battery, 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery was always ready for success. He gained much respect from ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’ in Arms. He reciprocated support, protection and adhered to the Oaths of Enlistment. He thrived in the military environment and took every challenge as a quest. Specialist Laxton was looking forward to attending The Aviation Center of Excellence *Army Flight School Training. His leadership was recognized and therefore he was invited to enter the Army Officers Candidate School.
He earned numerous accolades of achievements and excelled rapidly. His Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage to his country and family did not go unnoticed. Our family is immensely grateful for his sacrifice and love. No matter the circumstances there is always room for love.
Thairras was a handsome young man of humble and kind character. He believed in himself. A cherished son, devoted brother and dearly loved grandson. He was extraordinary in all areas of his life. Thairras will always be a reflection of light and love. He was our inspiration.
On Tuesday September 19, 2023 His legacy transcended being earthbound and his spirit united with a higher calling. Being a visionary ahead of his time, there is no doubt he has ascended into Heaven.
