He was born on January 15, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska, and was adopted through the Nebraska Children’s Home by the late John and Jackie Schizas of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Andy leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Kimberly Mallinger Schizas; six children, Nicholas Lococo (Kala), Callista Biggerstaff (Kyle), Krista Schizas (Daniel), Demitri Schizas (Chelsea), Ashley Mallinger, and Zayne Schizas; Son-in-law, Carey Young; brothers Christopher Schizas (Georgine) and Matthew Schizas; sisters, Jennifer Ashley (Mark), and Katie Glass (Andy). Andy was an adored Papou to 14 grandchildren.
Andy was known for his strong work ethic and integrity. He was a mentor to many throughout his career in food management. Andy started his career working for his father at Chelsea’s Pub in Lincoln, Nebraska, and when his life brought him to Austin, TX, he managed various restaurants before finding his home and true calling as the General Manager at Bush’s Chicken in Cedar Park.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His passion, integrity, and selflessness were apparent to anyone who met him. He was a “brother” to everyone and “father” to those who needed one.
Andy was an avid outdoorsman who taught his love of fishing to anyone who wanted to go to a lake. His infectious smile and laugh will live on forever.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home on Saturday, October 1,2022 at 10 am.
