Leroy H. Layser, Jr. 66, died Friday, August 23, 2013 in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Sherry McKinney Layser. He was born in Lebanon on June 21, 1947, a son of Jeannette LaTulippe Layser of Lebanon and the late Leroy H. Layser, Sr. He was a lifetime self-employed truck driver. Leroy was a member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a NASCAR fan, classic car enthusiasts; enjoyed watching western movies and reading books and especially loved his truck. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are children, Doug Stalnecker and wife Trudy of Lebanon; Jeff Stalnecker of MD; Kelly Beidler and husband Jim of Lebanon; Angela Fite and husband Nathan of Shermansdale; Jerry Layser and companion Deb D’Aurelio of Annville; Matt Klinger of Manheim; Steven Klinger of Jonestown; Leigh Tomecek of Lebanon; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Janet Zerbe of Myerstown; niece, Emily Zerbe Emerich of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia A. Kleinfelter Layser and grandson, William Berndt. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon with a viewing beginning on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be made in the Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Kidney Foundation of Central PA, 1500 Paxton St., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17104.
