Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Embry Lee Brooks.
He is survived by his daughters, Penny Isbell, Liz (Len) Smith, Bell Brooks, son, Robert Brooks, sister, Martha (Charles) Moreland, brothers, Henry Brooks, Arthur (Hazel) Brooks, grandchildren, Martha (David) Lynn, Coty Dawson, Kenny Smith, Embry Necole Smith, great grandchildren, Logan Abbott, Joseph, Jacob and Devon Smith and Coty D. Dawson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Vandiver Church of God.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Vandiver Church of God with burial at Lawleys Chapel Cemetery in Sterrett.
