I am Jalta Black Pace, and my mother was Orene THORNBURG Black. I understand Raymond was working on the Thornburg Genealogy. He came to my mother's house some years back before her death to talk to her about the Thornburgs. My son, James Kevin Pace (sometimes uses name Amon Thornburg) has been working on the genealogy also, and I think that's how you and he got connected?? He just forwarded the Obituary to me, so I will notify the rest of our family. So sorry to hear of his passing, but we KNOW he's in a better place. Sounds like he was an exceptionally fine person. May God the Holy Spirit comfort each of you in this time of sadness. Jalta Pace

One of the finest Christian men I've ever met, Dwane was always ready with an open heart, a loving smile, and a genuineness about him that is so rare these days. He loved the Lord and was not ashamed to admit it to anyone. He stood for what was right, and true, and good in the world. A true Southern gentleman, family member and friend, he was always ready to help in any way he could with anything he could. He will be sorely missed, but I know that one day soon I shall see him again in Glory, most likely talking to Adam and Eve, or Abraham, or Moses; and especially Jesus Christ, finding out all the missing pieces of their lives which were not included in God's word. I pray the Lord will comfort his beautiful daughter and wife, and grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that Dwane is with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I could not have picked out a more wonderful father!!! He was the best Daddy anyone could have hoped and prayed for!The last thing I said to my father was that I loved him and I would see him later. Those words are still true, "I love you and I will see you again soon Daddy". Heaven just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. I am looking forward to a great reunion in Heaven someday. I thank God for my Godly parents and a father who always led a life pleasing to God, with no complaints, only a smile and words of encouragement. He is and will continue to be MY HERO!!!!!!

I met Dwane, a Thornburg cousin, through another Thornburg cousin, Ramona Scott Kemp. Dwane and I met at Cracker Barrel in Moody one day with our genealogy books in tow and began to deplete Cracker Barrel's ice tea supply while digging and digging in our files and memories of those gone before us. I talked to Dwane maybe a month ago or so and I am thrilled we had this opportunity!!! Although I moved to California over a year ago, we tried to keep in touch. I certainly miss Dwane albeit I know he is singing with the Angels and Our Lord!!!! Knowing Dwane as a man of God, I know he is at peace, totally healed and happy. Anita, Whitney, Stephen, my heart is warm full of thoughts, prayers and hugs as you began a year of firsts without Dwane. My our Lord grant you peace, comfort and wrap his loving arms around you always and forever. I love you all. God Bless. Mary Jo Bruce (Gonzalez)

A geat man that never complained about his sickness has been called to Heaven, I know he is rejoicing with all his other relatives there and having a great time meeting those ancestors he has reseached and heard about. We are going to miss him soooo much!!! But he is out of pain now, May all of his family take joy in knowing that he is at rest. Anita & Whitney and all of Dwayne's other relatives you are in my prayers. I love Dwayne so much and I will him so much, I spoke with him last on the phone Thursday and I am glad that I picked up the phone and called him because we never know when God is going to call us home. Love to all of our Falkner family. Maryellen Falkner Roach

I never met Dwane, but spent considerable time with him on line. I know him to be a loving honest and helpful person. I know he loved his family and God and country. He also loved his fellow man. Once my email got hacked and he was sent a letter saying I was in another country stranded and in need of help. Right away he sent money. I felt so bad about this but it shows such a generous side of him, I will never forget his kindness though I was sorry he was taken advantage of. My son David Lawrence Henderson is a son of James Lawrence Henderson of Anniston, Stephens grandfather. I am happy Stephen married into such a family. I pray Dwane has a peaceful rest and will rise with the Savior in Glory. Rose Adams

We are so sorry for the loss of such a special man. Knowing him from a child, he was always such a sweet person. I know he went through many things physcially, and yet I never heard him complain. He was so humble. We loved him so much . Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Charlotte and Linda
